Authentic Brands Group is currently engaged in exclusive negotiations aimed at acquiring the Missoni brand, according to a report from WWD on Wednesday. If negotiations progress successfully, industry insiders anticipate that the deal will be finalized by the end of the year. The Missoni family holds a significant 58.8% ownership of the company’s shares, while the investment firm Fondo Strategico Italiano acquired a 41.2% stake back in 2018. In a related note, Authentic Brands Group was also pursuing the acquisition of Marc Jacobs from LVMH, but those negotiations have recently concluded, as sources indicated that LVMH is not currently interested in selling the brand.
