In addition to advertising, it also earns <b>subscription revenue<\/b> from services like <b>Google One<\/b>, sells smart devices like <b>Nest<\/b>, and operates a rapidly growing <b><a href=\"https:\/\/oxfordwisefinance.com\/blog\/amazon-stock-prediction-set-to-soar-in-5-years\/\">cloud infrastructure<\/a><\/b> business. In the first quarter, Alphabet&#8217;s various segments collectively generated over $90 billion in revenue.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The tech giant achieved nearly $19 billion in <b>free cash flow<\/b> during the first quarter alone, contributing to a total of almost $75 billion over the past year. A portion of this cash\u2014$1.2 billion\u2014was distributed as dividends, while over $15 billion was allocated to stock repurchases during the first quarter. As a result of generating more excess cash than it returned to shareholders, Alphabet&#8217;s balance sheet now holds nearly $134 billion in cash, cash equivalents, and marketable securities. The company reported $44.1 billion in revenue during the first quarter, marking an impressive 69% increase compared to the same period last year, with the primary driver being a remarkable 73% surge in sales to data center customers, totaling $39.1 billion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">As a leader in <b>AI semiconductors<\/b>, Nvidia generated over $27 billion in cash flow from operations during the first quarter, reflecting a 79% increase from the corresponding period last year. The company returned $14.3 billion to shareholders through stock buybacks (amounting to $14.1 billion) and dividends ($244 million). With its free cash flow significantly exceeding its cash returns, Nvidia&#8217;s cash reserves grew to $53.7 billion, positioning the company to continue returning substantial cash to its investors. Last year, Nvidia provided investors with a remarkable 150% dividend hike and significantly increased its stock repurchase program by $50 billion.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">How Technology Giants Are Minting Cash<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">These major technology companies have effectively transformed into <b>cash-generating machines<\/b>.
