While primarily utilized by technical analysts, this tool can be beneficial for all investors in recognizing market trends and investor sentiment.<\/p>\n

Historically, the S&P 500<\/b> has achieved this remarkable feat only four other times since 1975, according to Detrick’s findings.<\/p>\n

For investors tracking this analysis, the encouraging news is that when the market has consistently closed above its 20-day moving average<\/b> for 60 days in the past, positive outcomes have generally followed, with average returns ranging from 20%<\/a><\/b> to 26%<\/b> over the following year. When examining one month, three months, six months, and a year after this occurrence, there are very few instances where the market has declined.<\/p>\n

“This is yet another indicator that this bull market has the potential to continue,” Detrick remarked in a research note. As of this update on July 23, the S&P 500<\/b> is currently about 1.9%<\/a><\/b> above its 20-day moving average<\/b>.<\/p>\n
